Reflexology
calm by leslie offers deeply relaxing foot reflexology sessions at very reasonable rate. Never experienced foot reflexology? You’re in for a treat! Different than massage, reflexology involves addressing reflex points in the foot which correspond to different points on the body. Reflexologists believe that the feet (and hands and ears!) contain points which correspond to body regions, and that by reflexing (usually with thumb pressure) on these points the corresponding area is stimulated. This allows the body to regulate and attend to that areas needs as it sees fit. Reflexology is not a cure for disease, but rather a supplement to achieving maximum mental and physical health.
Sessions last approx. 1 hour, and involve the client reclining in a comfortable chaise or on the massage table. Clients remained clothed with only socks and shoes removed.
Most people find reflexology deeply relaxing, with some (including yours truly) falling fast asleep! Others have noticed the deeply detoxifying effects of reflexology.
Nearby Marymoor Park, in Redmond, Washington recently added a reflexology footpath. This beautiful path of raised stones welcomes visitors to walk along it (in bare or stockinged feet) and allow the various stones to address reflex points in their own feet. Self-reflexology! While this path is one of the first public reflexology paths in the United States, they are quite common in Asia, where you will often see many (often elderly) people walking contemplatively along them. Studies have shown that regular use of such paths reduces blood pressure!
If you haven’t experienced a reflexology session (or if you have an would like more), please take advantage of my current discount rate of $40 an hour. This deeply relaxing bodywork modality can be a lovely way to de-stress.
